As part of my job, I coach and guide student consultants to work on interdisciplinary projects. From experience, I have found most consultants have strong technical skills to perform an analysis but lack various soft skills.

Congratulations Yuying on publishing a new article. The article looks into relationship between student performance and entry-to-practice milestones. The data set has many common issues commonly encountered in other projects. I am glad that Yuying addressed every research question from the collaborators and presented the results to them in an understandable manner.

Bravo, Trang! Your hard work has truly paid off. In the literature of meta analysis, the assumption is that the measurements are taken in the same unit and scale. However, this is not the case in most articles, making systematic review tedious.

After 4 years of hiatus, I am back in the field organizing and giving statistics workshops again. Although I was able to reuse some materials from before, it is still a little nerve wrecking.

I was thrilled to find this project. It is such a gem because we seldom find ourselves working with data from the linguistic studies. We often wonder what do they do measure and what can they measure.

Last year, I met with Rahim, Kaleb and Melanie to discuss how to analyze the data about the eye’s optic. It was an educational moment for me when I found that human vision is different between those with and without diabetes.

What a great start to the year! Our paper about teachable conversational agents in crowdwork is accepted to CSCW. Congratulations Nalin! It has been a pleasure to join the team on this long journey.

Hooray! We submitted the camera-ready version of the paper on Curiosity Notebook for CSCW 2021 to ACM. Congratulations Ken Jen and team. Thank you for letting me participate in such amazing work!
